Perhaps it may turn out a sang,
Perhaps turn out a sermon.

So I Spoke

Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak, knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence.  2 Corinthians 4:13-14

I have no time today, but this encouraged me, and I thought I would share it.

Paul is quoting Psalm 116:  For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling; I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.  I believed, even when I spoke, “I am greatly afflicted” (verses 8-10).  Even when we are troubled in this life, we know that the Lord will carry us successfully through all that assails us.  It is part of the process, part of the trek upon which we have been set.  We are not going through tribulation because we have failed or because we lack faith.  It is our faith that enables us to get through it all.  That’s the whole point.

We are not beaten because we find ourselves thinking that this is really rough.  Whatever happens, you and I will be raised up in Christ and brought into the presence of God.  We will have lost nothing in the process.

Don't be afraid to tell God things are hard.  Don't be afraid to tell everyone around you that everything is going to be all right.

Seems contradictory, but weirdly, it isn't.
