Why is this a day like no other?
On this day we remember:
The destitute longing to act
Across the barrier of distance
And circumstance,
Vicarious horror
In the rippling of diabolical choices,
Confusion, anger, agony, and resolve,
Courage – desperately calm,
Quietly reckless courage,
And faith.
We expected transformation,
Renovation, revolution;
Our passions were manipulated,
The sacred truth was desecrated,
Liberty was regulated.
For righteous vengeance
We were given guilt
Meant to mitigate a healthy hate.
We forget,
We instant, just add water Christians,
That hidden roots grow deep
In leafless, fruitless winter,
That metamorphosis means a cocoon,
And resurrection needs a tomb.
The darkness is upon us and we sleep
To rise at break of day
And wash away the iniquity
In hope and holiness, and love.

That was good. Thanks!
Glad you like it, John.
