Plato For the Win!

He is only a very shallow critic who cannot see an eternal rebel in the heart of the Conservative. -- GKC
This is the way an opinion gains acceptance in France. Fifty ignoramuses repeat in chorus some absurd libel that has been thought up by an even bigger ignoramus; and, if only it happens to coincide to some slight degree with prevailing attitudes and passions, it becomes a self-evident truth -- Frederic Bastiat

Now that's a beautiful expanse of green! We won't be seeing anything even resembling that here, until winter maybe...
Oh, the dogwood! How lovely.
Been thinking a lot about the "Glass" post these last few days. That was quite profound and hopeful. We get caught up in thinking that we- ourselves, America- have all the solutions to the world's problems. Maybe, maybe not. The thought that the Solution might be manifested through somewhere else is humbling, but why not?
Thanks for that one.
Thanks, Sal. Yes, that's really what stuck me. The answer is not political though it manifests itself in that way at times. There are great awakenings going on around the world but don't expect MSNBC to report on them.
Consider, Julie, I have been looking at brown sticks for weeks while seeing your pictures of blooms and blossoms. You're way ahead of me.
What a charming, pastoral setting you've found and cultivated. I'm inspired to put "How Green Was My Valley" in the player tonight and plant a dogwood next Spring.
